Only in small-town Alberta

A big thank you to a lady named Chelsie who cares in Carstairs. My large Pyrenees strayed far from home with a new rescue wandering dog belonging to a neighbour. I was away for five days so the two dogs made it all the way to Highway 2A near town.

A big thank you to a lady named Chelsie who cares in Carstairs. My large Pyrenees strayed far from home with a new rescue wandering dog belonging to a neighbour. I was away for five days so the two dogs made it all the way to Highway 2A near town. He’s loose because he keeps prevalent coyotes off the farmyard.

This lady put them in her vehicle, kept them overnight in her garage and then brought them to the Carstairs Vet clinic Monday morning. The dog has their identifying tag.

On Tuesday afternoon I was alarmed to find the big guy missing. I received a call from some gentleman asking, “Are you all right? You haven’t answered your phone!” Then he told me where the dogs were. The vet clinic would not charge for two days of dog-sitting. Measures are now in place to keep the dogs home.

Not only did this lady care, but others care for the well-being of older residents! Only in a small town. Impressive and heartwarming.
