To the young driver of the black Dodge truck that destroyed our fence Friday, July 12, 2013, on 58 Avenue and did not have the courage to stop and own your mistake:
We consider ourselves very fortunate that our fence was all that was ruined as your speed coming around our corner must have been obscene as you blasted through five posts and nearly hit our trampoline.
We have two young children and two dogs that play in our yard plus numerous friends and neighbours with children that also enjoy our yard.
Although the time off I took for summer holidays to spend with my family is now being spent dealing with the cleanup, insurance companies and ordering and building a new fence, it is still better than the guilty conscience you must have now, or that one would hope. If you would like to address this and come forward and be accountable for your actions I would encourage you to do so.
We all make mistakes, but it is how you handle them and what you learn from them that makes you a person of integrity.
If you are a parent, friend or family member of this individual, I would ask that you support them in coming forward and accepting their responsibility.
If anyone has any information or notices a black Dodge truck with a silver Dodge Ram symbol on the back windshield that is missing an after-market spotlight on the driver's side with possible front-end damage, we ask that you report it to Crime Stoppers or the RCMP.
Raelynn Notley,
