Protecting the birds of Dodd's Lake

We would like to thank Don Harrison for his excellent commentary in the Innisfail Province on May 15 regarding respecting the nesting of the birds on Dodd's Lake.

We would like to thank Don Harrison for his excellent commentary in the Innisfail Province on May 15 regarding respecting the nesting of the birds on Dodd's Lake.
His description of the threat and damage that the motorized boat activities do to the nesting birds on the lake is no small thing. We have sadly watched it happen now for the past five years that we have lived here, and we are behind Don 100 per cent in petitioning the Town of Innisfail to do something immediately to stop this.
There are other recreational lake areas within a reasonable distance from Innisfail that the water skiers can practise on, and they are much bigger also, I might add.
Kayaking, canoeing and especially birdwatching are preferable activities for our beautiful Dodd's Lake. Please protect our birds.
