Re: Blindsiding allegations from June 18 edition

I was dismayed when I read this article, and then went back and reviewed Mayor Terry Leslie’s letter enclosed with the monthly Town of Sundre utility bill. His letter was very transparent and informative on the history of the Sundre Aquaplex.

I was dismayed when I read this article, and then went back and reviewed Mayor Terry Leslie’s letter enclosed with the monthly Town of Sundre utility bill.

His letter was very transparent and informative on the history of the Sundre Aquaplex. There was only one sentence in which he gave his opinion on the Sundre and District Aquatic Society board’s request. I would agree that he should not have given his opinion on that option, but why should he be pilloried for just that little indiscretion?

It would be interesting to see how each council member would write a newsletter each month for the utility bill enclosure!

In closing, I would like to say: keep up the transparency, that’s the only way us taxpayers can know and understand what is going on about town events. Also, a big kudo to all of the volunteers, past and present, responsible for the funding, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Sundre Aquaplex and fitness centre.

Al Newton,

Sundre
