As we meet each morning we see that CHRISTmas has arrived!
People busy getting things ready for the big day, lights going up, trees going up with all the beauty that comes with that and then a blanket of snow just to set the mood in the air. Awwww, what a wonderful sight.
I love CHRISTmas and that spirit that comes with it.
The spirit that has been there since I was a child and as far as I know has been there for 2013 years.
For me CHRISTmas is full of memories and tradition, some old and some new but the one thing that hasn't changed is the spirit of CHRISTmas.
The true spirit of CHRISTmas! It used to be CHRISTmas was a very sad time for me once I left home (at 11).
Being all by myself and having no one in my corner and it stayed like that till I was 30. So through those years I had many CHRISTmases that were full of helplessness, hopelessness and completely powerless.
It was awful but there was somebody there the whole time; I just didn't know it at the time, His name is GOD!
Through all my bad choices that I made, He still brought me through it all.
Since age 30, I have been introduced to God once again but this time I did it through the Christ.
I walk with Him today and I see what He has been doing in my life and other lives as well.
Things have not been easy but He has and continues to love me unconditionally. So now I find myself really taking CHRISTmas with the most highest respect that He deserves, but lately I'm seeing that as the years pass that we are moving further and further away from the true spirit of CHRISTmas!
My hubby and I were at a drive-thru and we noticed the hours of operation; it states that on CHRISTmas day they are open.
I took a second look just to make sure I wasn't seeing things!
I was disturbed by this!
The more I look the further CHRISTmas seems to be moving from us, not closer to us. How sad!
We the people need to take a stand with this.
I would hate to think that this is our future of CHRISTmas, moving further and further away from us.
Please help me to keep CHRISTmas alive in our community.
If we bend on CHRISTmas then that means we are bending the respect that God deserves.
The CHRISTmas spirit is something we must not allow to fall to the wayside! CHRISTmas is about family and friends but more than that it's about love, loving our neighbours and forgiving each other.
It's about Jesus and how God sent His only son to save us from ourselves.
Wow!
We as a nation have accepted this day as the day we celebrate what He, God has done, regardless of sex, colour or race!
These are values we cannot lose...
God bless and Merry CHRISTmas everyone.
Love through Christ.
