Webster's Dictionary defines community as a unified body of people.
Me, I have come to the conclusion that community is much more than that; it is the neighbour who shovels your walk when they know your husband is at work and you're too weak, the people who bring supper because they know you don't feel like cooking but know your family has to eat something!
And it's the people who come out to rally behind you, giving you the support you need to get through the next hurdle.
I want to thank each and every one of you who came out to help me and my family make going for cancer treatment a possibility; the businesses, friends, family and complete strangers who donated their time, money and actions items.
There are far too many people to thank individually and if I did, I fear I may forget someone; you all know who you are and how grateful me and my family are.
In closing, I just want to say the next time you are down on yourself or just having a bad day, look around at your community, you may never know how much they can lift you up and one day, may even save your life.
Thank you again.
