The actual true meaning of Christmas was completely missed! The word “Christmas”(Christ-mas) means Christ's birth, so here, in the word Christmas lies the true meaning.

The Word of God, the Bible, tells us that Jesus Christ is “Immanuel” - which means “God with us” (Matthew 1:23).

And because God came into the world, by accepting Jesus into our lives, we are able to experience hope, peace, joy and love, which the church celebrates on each of the four Sundays of Advent, leading up to Christmas.

Unfortunately, because so few people have any exposure to Christian teaching, as your article accurately states, the true meaning of Christmas is missed and lost in commercialism and materialism. The true meaning - the birth of Christ.
