The 2019 provincial election, the 30th one held in this province, is now well underway.
Now I know that many people view elections as a rather annoying inconvenience -- all the attacks, gaffes, mistakes and slurs generated by one or more candidates and their parties.
But despite all that, I urge all eligible voters in this community to vote on April 16.
The opportunity to have some input in what kind of government we have as a result is just too important to ignore.
Alberta -- especially rural Alberta -- is slogging through one of the worst recessions in a long, long time and we owe it to ourselves to take advantage of the opportunity we're given to choose the party we think will help get us out of this mess.
It's cliché but it's true -- millions of people envy the opportunity people in democracies like ours have to have a say in who governs us.
We should never forget how important that is.
So on April 16 (or in advance polls before then) please vote for whichever party's platform is closest to your view on how this province should be run.
