MONTREAL — American defensive back Wesley Sutton signed a two-year deal with the Montreal Alouettes on Monday.
The five-foot-11, 194-pound Sutton had a team-high 79 tackles last season with Montreal.
The East Division all-star also recorded four sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.
"We are happy to know we will be able to depend on Wesley for two more seasons, as he had an excellent 2022 campaign and keeps progressing," said Alouettes GM Danny Maciocia.
"Opposing offences must constantly be weary of him when they take the field."
Montreal also signed American rookie receiver Trevon Bradford.
Redblacks sign fullback Gosselin to one-year deal
OTTAWA _ The Ottawa Redblacks re-signed Canadian fullback Anthony Gosselin to a one-year deal.
Gosselin, 30, is entering his sixth CFL season, all spent with the Redblacks. The native of Otterburn, Que., has 13 catches for 77 yards and 11 special-teams tackles over 59 career regular-season games.
Ottawa selected Gosselin in the second round, No. 18 overall, in the 2017 CFL draft out of Sherbrooke.
Lions sign Canadian receiver Scarfone to one-year contract extension
VANCOUVER _ The B.C. Lions signed Canadian receiver Jacob Scarfone to a one-year contract extension.
Scarfone was eligible to become a free agent Feb. 14.
The 28-year-old London, Ont., native had 10 catches for 131 yards and a touchdown in 17 regular-season games with B.C., in 2022.
Scarfone joined the Lions as a free agent before the 2021 season and had six catches for 85 yards and a TD in 14 regular-season contests in his first year in Vancouver.
Hamilton selected Scarfone in the sixth round, No. 47 overall, of the 2017 CFL draft but he opted to return to Guelph. Scarfone spent two seasons (2018-19) with Ottawa, appearing in 11 games.
