VAUDREUIL-DORION, Que. — Quebec provincial police say they are investigating after the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside a home in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Que., just west of Montreal.

Authorities say they were called to the home around 1 p.m. on Sunday because a relative of the two people had not heard from them for some time.

Sgt. Audrey-Anne Bilodeau says autopsies will be performed to formally identify the two people and determine how they died.

She says the coroner will also try and confirm whether the two people had lived in the residence.

Bilodeau says it's unclear how long the bodies had been inside the home, adding that it could have been days or weeks.

She says police have released the scene and that the investigation is ongoing.
