Police north of Montreal investigating killing of man, 31, found shot inside vehicle

LAVAL, Que. — Police are investigating the killing of a man late Friday in Laval, just north of Montreal. Laval police say they received several 911 calls regarding gunshots around 11:20 p.m.

LAVAL, Que. — Police are investigating the killing of a man late Friday in Laval, just north of Montreal.

Laval police say they received several 911 calls regarding gunshots around 11:20 p.m. in a residential neighbourhood in the city's Saint-François district.

Const. Stéphanie Beshara says responding police officers found a vehicle that had been hit by gunfire and a 31-year-old man who had been shot.

Police say the man's death was declared at the scene.

Beshara says the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was not known to Laval police.

A security perimeter is in place and investigators and crime scene technicians are combing the scene.
