“Our restaurant offers a great culinary experience with nothing like it in the area. We use local produce to ensure freshness, and our great staff is looking forward to welcoming guests,” Sophie explains. “This fine casual dining experience enhances the overall stay at Aurum Lodge, ensuring that this is not just a place to sleep, but a destination in itself.”
Sophie and her partner first dreamt of owning a lodge 20 years ago while travelling through Europe and experiencing how rewarding it was to stay in comfort while ensconced in nature – not to mention the hosts that would tell them where to find the best sights, trails, activities, and meals! Now, that dream has become reality.
“We fell in love with this place and feel very lucky to be living here and sharing it with the wonderful guests who come to visit,” says Sophie of their reason for purchasing the lodge and elevating the guest experience. Their passion for hospitality is evident in every aspect of Aurum Lodge, starting with the warm welcome guests receive upon arrival.
With a variety of activities available in the surrounding area, one day is simply not enough! Guests can enjoy helicopter rides, horse-back riding, canoeing and kayaking, canyoning, white-water rafting, and an abundance of hiking trails, to name just a few.
“The region is so worth it. There are fewer crowds and endless activities for nature lovers,” says Sophie.

Sophie and her team have opened up Aurum Lodge for one-night stays, which were not available under the previous ownership. However, they firmly believe that the lodge and the surrounding region justify longer stays to fully appreciate all it has to offer, so don’t hesitate to stay in the lodge or the suites.
Open throughout all seasons, Aurum Lodge is a smoke-free facility that prioritizes the well-being and relaxation of its visitors. Guests wake up to the sound of birds chirping and the gentle rustling of leaves, and spend their days hiking, fishing, or simply relaxing by the water's edge.
At night, they are invited to gather around the fire pit and roast marshmallows under the stars, or cozy up indoors and enjoy a good book or a board game.
