Insurance can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to…Insurance brokerages, like Westland, brings together professionals that have access to many different policies from a variety of insurers. This provides clients with a greater range of products and customized quotes from one reliable location.
For Westland Insurance, with 25 locations throughout Alberta, the focus from day one has been on what is best for each client, and when the pandemic started, the team was quick to act.
“During the pandemic we have remained open, but have adjusted how we do business,” explains Kay Mbaso, Regional Sales Manager. “We limited the number of clients in the office, allowing staff to work from home, and following all AHS guidelines to keep clients and staff safe. Also, our registries office has remained fully functional throughout the pandemic, providing an essential service to the drivers in the area.”
The rapid adjustments for safety are part of the commitment to customer service. “We always do our best to support and protect our clients, and have gone to bat many times with insurance companies when we felt that a different outcome should have taken place, whether in regards to a claim or a policy issue,” says Kay.
Now with restrictions easing, Westland is looking forward to re-opening more fully with distancing and protocols in place as required. Each client can continue look forward to the aspects that have made Westland Insurance such a success.
“Our success is based on client satisfaction, ranging from Google reviews to client feedback. We are focused on continuing to educate our teams and to make every client interaction the best it can possibly be,” informs Kay.
Today’s insurance market is challenging as companies adapt to everything from increasing risks from extreme weather to sophisticated technology in vehicles pressuring insurance rates, and insuring travel during the pandemic.
“By being upfront and transparent with our clients (whether it affects them negatively or positively) as well as being solution oriented, we do our best to overcome any obstacles we face,” confirms Kay. “We want our customers to come back and deal with us, knowing that we are on their side and here to help them with any issues they may have.”
Westland Insurance supports a wide range of charitable initiatives that includes food banks across Alberta, The Canadian Liver Foundation, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and many more.
“As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations, Westland kicked off our 40 Weeks of Giving campaign to show our appreciation to our clients and communities we are fortunate to serve. We highlight a different cause or organization each week and show our support with a donation,” Kay adds.
As the re-opening takes place, Westland Insurance says a big thank you to, “all the communities where we have offices. We appreciate and value our clients and hope that every interaction with our teams is a good one. Even if someone is not a client, we appreciate the opportunity to provide a quote to see if we can help.”
Westland further thanks the staff, saying, “We have a wonderful group of people who are friendly and eager to help. It has been a difficult year with an immense amount of adjustments, and I am so proud of how the staff stepped up, as well as how our executive team led us with their guidance.”
