SUNDRE — All charges laid against a local woman arrested last summer alongside a male who just before Christmas was sentenced in connection with property crimes, were recently withdrawn.
Paige Patterson -- who was 27 at the time of her arrest this past August -- had been apprehended by police with Daniel Conway, a Sundre-area resident described by the RCMP as a ‘prolific offender' following a report of a break and enter at a lease site southwest of town. Although Mounties said at the time that Patterson was also known to police, the history did not stem from criminal activity.
Conway was sentenced on Dec. 22 for assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, fleeing from a peace officer, and arson/damage to property. A number of Traffic Safety Act offences as well as unlawfully setting a fire, failure to supervise or extinguish a fire; breaking and entering a house with intent and possession of property under $5,000 were withdrawn
Patterson’s last scheduled court date, according to an email inquiry submitted to Alberta Court Checks, was on Jan. 12.
A clerk responded last week in follow-up questions from The Albertan and confirmed all of the charges she faced — break and enter to commit; alter/deface/destroy a vehicle identification number; possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime — were withdrawn.
