SUNDRE - Sundre firefighters spent about two hours at the scene of a vehicle and grass fire near Bearberry west of Sundre last week.
Crews were called to the scene on Rge. Rd. 73 shortly after 2 p.m. on Aug. 4, said Sundre firefighter and fire prevention officer Daniel Corbett.
The fire started in a truck and spread to the nearby grass, he said. There were no injuries and the cause of the mishap remains under investigation, he said, noting the truck was destroyed in the fire. The Sundre firefighters were assisted by an Alberta Forestry firefighting crew.
“They helped with moping up the grass fire,” he said.
