SUNDRE – The community can expect to see some new homes and condos being built this year.

Council heard during a recent regular meeting an administrative report presenting highlights that included a recap from the planning and economic development department.

As of March, six development permits were issued, including two home offices as well as two, three-unit rowhouse condos. There were also six building permits approved for condominium units at Prairie Creek, Linda Nelson, chief administrative officer, informed council.

“I just want to draw your attention to the number of dwelling units that have been approved this year,” she said.

“So far, we have 30 dwelling units being constructed in Sundre, which is fairly impressive for a community our size,” she said.

“Last year at this time, we had actually not issued any permits at all in any of the different classes.”

The estimated value of the approved building permits amount to a little more than $3.1 million, she said.
