Council voted during the Feb. 4 meeting to immediately provide the Chamber of Commerce with the remaining $7,500 of the $10,000 annual commitment.
Sherry Tytkanych, president of the chamber, was present to request the remaining funds. She also requested $10,000 from Mountain View County.
Because the chamber is struggling with money, council voted to support the funds immediately.
However, council members questioned what chamber officials would do without receiving any further funding from the town for the remainder of the year.
Mayor Annette Clews and Coun. Pat Toone opposed this motion, after council discussed other options to avoid any situation that would arise from this.
The other options discussed were to provide more of the funding immediately, but not all of it.
