Anu Francis, who works at the Sundre Dairy Queen, serves up some Blizzards to Sundre-area resident Phil Zloty who on Thursday, Aug. 8 came out with his 10-year-old son Zach to buy a bunch of the frozen treats for the rest of the family specifically in support of Miracle Treat Day.

Customers of Dairy Queen locations in Didsbury and Sundre supported the Children’s Miracle Network recently with the purchase of some sweet treats.

On Aug. 8 proceeds from the sales of Blizzard treats, as well as customer donations, went to the network's area benefactor: Calgary’s Alberta Children’s Hospital.

The money is then used to support children and their families by helping reduce hospital wait times, implementing life-saving treatments, as well as being an investment in advanced medical equipment that accelerates recoveries.

Puneet Sharma, who owns both the Didsbury and Sundre Dairy Queen franchise locations said both establishments combined raised a total of about $6,000 on Miracle Treat Day.

Participating Dairy Queen locations across Canada raised more than $2.89 million for the Children’s Miracle Network on Miracle Treat Day in 2023.
