SUNDRE — A drumming duo from Lethbridge had to change their beat up a little bit to adapt to COVID-19 protocols in an effort to continue delivering their musical program.
Jodi and Matt Groenheide, who are no strangers to Sundre, had previously conducted summer camps to provide youth who were interested with an opportunity to learn about a variety of percussion instruments. They came up with alternate plans to put on sidewalk concerts as well as backyard sessions by booking.
They performed for about half an hour on the afternoon of Friday, July 17 at the Sundre Municipal Library, attended by about a dozen people who came out to listen to their melodies.
Since the pandemic started in March, the couple said they’ve done more than 100 sidewalk concerts, largely in the Lethbridge and surrounding region. But they also recently held a yard session at Camp Evergreen near Bergen, followed later by their first visit this season to Sundre.
