SUNDRE — A crew with GrindStone Paving & Excavating was busy on Thursday, June 25 preparing to repave a severely degraded and pothole-laden portion of Centre Street.
Endless patchwork had failed to address the deteriorating section of Centre Street immediately north of the Bearberry Creek bridge, so the whole pothole plagued portion of road was cut out and replaced with a fresh layer of asphalt.
The construction cost approximately $25,000, said Jim Hall, Sundre’s operations manager.
“It’s a section that keeps giving us issues and poor storm drainage, so water is constantly laying there and pot holing,” he said.
