Following the recent death of her father, who succumbed to a cancer that had spread to his spine, lung and brain, she decided to do what she could to offer support to other cancer patients by cutting her hair and raising funds for cancer research to the tune of about $300. Most wigs are synthetic, and human hair wigs require 16 ponytails to complete, she told the Round Up. Here, local hairstylist Robin Baillargeon offered to cut the ponytail in sections as Kelway braced herself for a big change.
