Firefighters pour water onto a burning house north of Sundre on the RR 53 early Wednesday morning. Despite the hard-fought efforts of firefighters, who had to face -35 degree temperatures, the $450,000 residence was destroy in the blaze. Investigator John Whitesell said he has determined the fire started at the fireplace. "I can't determine exactly what happened, whether it was a spark coming out or something else, but it appears to be related to the fireplace," he said. There were no reported injuries.
