Sundre High School leadership class students stood in solidarity with the community of Humboldt and did not hesitate to find a way to raise funds for those affected by the tragic bus crash that claimed 16 lives.

They settled on selling custom made Humboldt T-shirts with support from Threadsetters, and raised almost $1,200, said teacher Ryan Beck.

"The leadership class sold 77 shirts for $20 each,” said Beck, expressing gratitude for the contribution from Threadsetters, which provided the shirts at a cost of $4.87 each including the silkscreening, meaning that $15.13 from each shirt is going to Humboldt.

The GoFundMe campaign’s goal to raise $4 million eclipsed that total with more than $15 million — a Canadian record — and since that online campaign is now closed, the students ended up directing the funds to the Humboldtstrong Community Foundation, the same account which received the $15 million.
