Sundre High School’s 49th May Queen has now drawn to a close.
It was another unbelievable year for the students of Sundre High! Students, staff, parents and community members worked together to raise $41,662. The money will be allocated to a variety of Sundre High School Students’ Union projects and activities in the coming year.
The Grade 10s raised $12,157 to take top honours for a second year in a row. Meanwhile, the Class of 2020’s win resulted in Paige Hall and Jakob Heath being crowned as May Queen and King for the 2017-18 school year.
Congratulations to all of the students who worked during this year’s May Queen. The results were amazing — you have certainly made us proud!
May Queen is one of the most impactful activities our school does in the community. Although a great deal of money is raised, May Queen is not just about money and competition. It’s about a community working together to teach youth about desirable personal characteristics such as responsibility, commitment, initiative, leadership and respect.
Our gratitude goes out to all parents and to those employers and community members who hired our students. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
