The Nimble Fingers crafting group based at the Sundre Legion Hall is looking for more members to help the needy of Sundre and beyond.
The group meets every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legion Hall where they quilt, sew, crochet and knit items for women's shelters, local and area seniors in need, and for homeless veterans in Calgary and other communities.
Current members of the group are Diana Wrigley, Kristy Gamble, Wendy Irving, Pat Moore, Yvonne Hopkins, Nancy Whitewood, Ruth Gabert, Gill Reap and Hilda Gamble.
Much of the material donated for the quilts, afghans, blankets and pillows made by the ladies has been donated by local anonymous sources and generous residents.
Now the group is looking for new members to join the effort.
“Any ladies in town and area who would like to come should come,” said Hilda Gamble. “They are more than welcome. We could sure use the help.”
Nimble Fingers is open to Ladies Auxiliary and Legion members, as well as anyone else interested.
Anyone interested in joining the volunteer group should show up at the Legion Hall any Tuesday morning at 10.
