Police seek help to identify thieves

Police are seeking the public’s help after the Red Deer River monitoring shed near the Greenwood Campground in Sundre was burglarized. The local RCMP detachment issued a statement on Jan.

Some time between Oct. 31 and Jan. 8, the Red Deer River monitoring shed near Sundre’s Greenwood Campground was broken into and equipment was stolen. Police are seeking the public’s input for any information on this matter.

Police are seeking the public’s help after the Red Deer River monitoring shed near the Greenwood Campground in Sundre was burglarized.

The local RCMP detachment issued a statement on Jan. 10 asking for help identifying the person or persons responsible for the break-in.

Some time between Oct. 31 and Jan. 8, the shed was broken into and items stolen, reported police.

“The shed is utilized to monitor the water flow and levels of the Red Deer River by Alberta ministries,” the statement reads.

“It was discovered on January 8 that some time in the last two months, the shed was broken into and equipment related to water monitoring was stolen.”

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Sundre RCMP detachment at 403-638-3675. Alternatively, tips can be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-2477 (TIPS).
