Science fair scholars

River Valley School was well represented at the 2019 Central Alberta Rotary Science Fair. Six students from grades 5 to 7 participated in project judging and science activities at Red Deer College on March 29-30.

River Valley School was well represented at the 2019 Central Alberta Rotary Science Fair.

Six students from grades 5 to 7 participated in project judging and science activities at Red Deer College on March 29-30.

Grade 6 students Austin Fuchko and Austin Nixon, earned the Genome Alberta Special Award for their study titled, Manure, a reliable energy source? The other achievements were: Georgia Winters, Grade 5, silver medal for her project called Sugar High; Madison Chant, Grade 6, recipient of the Discovery Wildlife Centre Special Award for her project called What dissolves?; Dane Roberts, Grade 6, who won the Kerry Wood Nature Centre Special Award for his project called Washer Shazam; and Sianna Vennard, Grade 7, who earned the Rosalyn Cowan Special Award for her project titled Does grooming affect a horse’s heart rate?
