Nine teams competed on Dec. 3-4 at the Sundre club’s rink

SUNDRE – The local curling club hosted a men’s bonpsiel this past weekend.

The event brought out nine teams to the Sundre Curling Club’s rink.

Lonnie Halladay, the club’s president, praised the work of ice technicians Dale and Travis Phillips, who so far this season have kept “curling conditions at a premium.”

The Wayne Heikkinen team from the Calgary North Hill Curling Club won the A event, with Glen Smith’s local team taking the B event title.

The club’s next event is this week's seniors’ bonspiel, which according to the group's website is scheduled to run from Tuesday to Friday, Dec. 6-9.
