SUNDRE — Aspiring gymnasts recently had an opportunity to showcase the skills they’ve learned and developed.
The Sundre Gymnastics Club was finally able to host its 21st meet on March 12 at the Sundre Community Centre following a roughly two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.
With members from the Flippin’ Out gym club out of Rocky Mountain House, there were 38 competitors performing, said Cynthia Spurrier, the Sundre club’s head coach.
The gymnasts participated in four events: uneven bars, balance beam, vault, and floor.
Parents also got the chance to come out and watch from seats that were included on the community centre's stage.
“We have had to miss two years of meets due to COVID — like everyone else,” Spurrier said. “So, it was great having everyone there, doing their best and enjoying the day.”
