SUNDRE — The academic achievements of more than 100 local high school students from the 2021-22 school year were recently celebrated.
The current and former students were honoured on Thursday, Oct. 6 for their scholastic excellence during the Sundre High School Academic Awards Night.
Staff members and representatives from a variety of local organizations presented honour roll scrolls, subject awards, scholarships, and special awards throughout the ceremony.
Thousands of dollars worth of scholarships, awards, and bursaries were also distributed.
Samantha Turner was recognized as the top Grade 12 scholar and was named recipient of the Governor General’s Bronze Medallion.
Sam Botheras and Lucas Dziadek were named Grade 9 Students of the Year, and Chandler Dziadek the Senior High Student of the Year. Tracy Wilson and the Sundre High School band provided musical entertainment.
We appreciate this opportunity to recognize these students as leaders and scholars.
