SUNDRE - A male suspect being sought after a woman was found dead in Sundre Friday afternoon has been found dead, police said Sunday.
On Saturday, Oct. 7 Sundre RCMP located a deceased male near a suspect vehicle in a rural area outside Sundre, RCMP Cpl. Gina Slaney said in a release issued today.
“The cause of death of the male is still being investigated, but at this time, RCMP are not seeking any further suspects in the homicide of the female. There is no risk to the public,” said Slaney.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, Sundre RCMP located a deceased female in her vehicle in the parking lot of a local business just east of the Town of Sundre municipal office.
RCMP Major Crimes was called in as the death appeared to be a homicide.
“Police were able to identify a suspect vehicle and a suspect believed to be involved in the homicide,” she said.
Police have not named either the woman or the man.
In a follow up interview, Slaney was asked by the Albertan whether the woman and the male knew each other. She said that information was not immediately available.
She also could not immediately say whether either the male or female were Sundre-area residents.
Police may be providing a further update in a few days, she said.
