Sundre hosts Chinook’s Edge divisional cross-country meet

Runners in grades 7-12 from nine schools participated with those clocking the best times headed to zones in Diamond Valley on Oct. 9

SUNDRE – Approximately 200 students from nine schools in Chinook’s Edge School Division took part on Sept. 25 in a divisional cross-country meet hosted in Sundre, where Snake Hill’s numerous nature trails through a forested area provide a perfect training ground for endurance running.

Students in Grades 7-12 came from Hugh Sutherland, Olds High, Sundre High, Didsbury High, Olds Koinonia, Cremona, Westglen, Deer Meadow and River Valley schools, and those who clocked the best times will be headed to Diamond Valley on Oct. 9 to run in zones.

From there, the top-18 high school students with the best times will qualify to be invited to compete at provincials in Grande Prairie.
