Sundre minor hockey evaluations lead up to tiering rounds

Players were able to hit the ice shortly after town crew finished preparing arena as planned in time for Sept. 16 opening

SUNDRE – Local hockey players have since earlier in September been preparing for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Sundre Minor Hockey Association’s teams were able to hit the ice shortly after the town crew managed to complete preparing the surface on Sept. 16 at the Sundre Arena in time for the scheduled opening date.

The U9 Huskies were among the squads to hold evaluations on Wednesday, Sept. 25 in the lead-up to tiering rounds that are set to start on Oct. 18, said Amber Jenkins, the association’s president.

The U15s are expected to play their first home game on Oct. 5 starting at 6 p.m. during an exhibition against Drumheller, she said.
