SUNDRE – Residents and visitors were invited to meander the Sundre and District Museum’s grounds over the past weekend for the local celebration of Alberta Culture Days.
Both the Sundre Municipal Library and the Sundre museum teamed up to offer at no cost a variety of activities as well as performances to shine a spotlight on artists, musicians, heritage, diversity and community spirit starting on Friday, Sept. 20 and winding up on Sunday, Sept. 22.
A cowboy poet, an art walk, a collection of Chinese works, numerous musical performances, as well as Métis and Indigenous programs presented by the Stoney Nakoda were all a part of the activity-filled weekend.
Among the gamut of activities offered were sessions such as weaving, Japanese kite making, South Asian paper crafting, Japanese book binding, felting, and rope making.
Meanwhile, live musical performances also featured the local talent of the Bergen Strings, Hither & Yon as well as Linda Holden, Larry Sands, the Whoopsie Daisies, Dustin Farr and Shipshifter.
