SUNDRE – Mounties are asking anyone with information about an empty flat deck trailer stolen in Sundre on New Year’s Eve to contact police.
The Sundre RCMP detachment received a call about the theft on Jan. 1.
Acting commander Cpl. Courtney Harding said a 2022, 24-foot Precision tri-axle flat deck trailer bearing Alberta licence plate 6HV 952 was reported stolen from a yard to the west of Fountain Tire in Sundre on Highway 27.
The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 7 and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31 when unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the fenced yard by cutting through a locked gate, said Harding.
“The suspect(s) then backed a dark-coloured, single-axel, older model Chevrolet/GMC truck to the trailer to steal it,” she said in a prepared statement, adding the trailer was not loaded at the time of the theft.
Sundre RCMP are asking anyone who might have surveillance of the area at the time of the theft, witnessed the incident, or know where this trailer might be located, to contact the local detachment at 403-638-3675.
