SUNDRE - Dahlia Erick, a Sundre resident, is doing her part to fight wildfires in the province, working at a fire lookout tower in northern Alberta this summer.

She is stationed at the Hawk Hills observation post north of Peace River.

“In her second year as a look-out observer, Dahlia – along with her colleagues at other towers across Alberta’s Forest Protection Area – spends long hours every day watching her designated area for smoke and reporting the location of new wildfires as early as possible,” said Mark Giles, wildfire information officer with Alberta Forestry and Parks.

Erick grew up in and attended high school in Olds. She now lives in Sundre.
