Sundre Skating Club hosts skills showcase day

Dozens of people attend season wind-up event at Sundre Arena

SUNDRE — For the first time since the pandemic started, the Sundre Skating Club was able to host a season wind-up event.

Although not a themed ice carnival as had been traditionally done in the past, the club was nevertheless able to proceed with making arrangements to put on a skills showcase event.

About 70 people came out to the Sundre Arena on the afternoon of Sunday, March 27 to watch the CanSkaters, Pre-STARSkaters as well as the STARSkaters perform and demonstrate the skills they've learned and improved over the past year.

“My heart is so full,” said head instructor Lyndsay Stange. “All of the skaters skated and represented their talent so well. I am so proud of them all — you know they are having fun when they all come off of the ice with a huge smile.”
