Sundre U15 Huskies help out Sundre Santas

Sundre team recently volunteered to unload seven pallets loaded with non-perishables and hygiene products

SUNDRE – Members of the U15 Huskies were recently busy unloading food from a trailer destined to supplement the Sundre Santas holiday hamper program.

Dallas Rosevear, the team’s coach, said the Greenwood Neighbourhood Place Society contacted the Sundre Minor Hockey Association seeking volunteers to help unload the haul.

“There were seven pallets of non-perishables and hygiene products to unload,” said Rosevear, adding the squad on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 23 made fairly quick work of the task at hand.

“The kids worked great as a team and we had it unloaded and sorted out in 40 minutes,” he said.

The coach added that he explained to his players that the community volunteers and sponsors events such as the team’s tournament as well as 50/50s at home games, and that agreeing to help GNP was a great way to pay it forward.

“I think the kids felt pretty good about themselves,” he said.
