SUNDRE - The Sundre area was among several locations in Alberta to hit a record high temperature Tuesday but it wasn’t the area’s only such feat of the month.
According to Environment Canada, the temperature rose to 18.8 C at the Sundre Airport on Nov. 21.
That’s a new record for the date, the agency noted, since records in the area started being kept in 1993.
The previous record high for the area on Nov. 21 was 16.2 C set in 2005.
According to the hourly data report for Tuesday, the high was hit at 3 p.m.
Two days previous on Nov. 18, the temperature at the Sundre Airport rose to 14.5 C, beating the previous record for that date as well.
The following areas in Alberta also set a daily maximum temperature record on Tuesday, Nov. 21, according to Environment Canada:
• Drumheller area - New record of 15.8 C beating out the old record of 12.2 C set in 1954. Records in the area have been kept since 1923.
• High River area - New record of 17.1 C beating out the old record of 14.0 C set in 2002. The area also hit record high temperatures in days leading up to Nov. 21. On Nov. 18, temps rose to 14.6 C and on Nov. 19 to 14.0 C, both record highs for those dates. Records in the area have been kept since 1913.
• Nordegg area - New record of 16.5 C beating out the old record of 15.2 C set in 2002. Records in the area have been kept since 1915.
• Rocky Mountain House area - New record of 17.2 C beating out the old record of 15.2 C set in 2002. Records in the area have been kept since 1915.
