SUNDRE – Members of Peak Theatre Players have recently been busy rehearsing at the Sundre Arts Centre for their upcoming production of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, adapted by Ken Ludwig.
When an odd collection of travellers in 1934 board the world-famous Orient Express from a station in Istanbul on a westward trek and find the coach is packed even amid the off-season, tensions quickly begin to run high.
And before long, detective Hercule Poirot, who’d hoped to find some reprieve from the stress of work and to enjoy some well-earned rest and relaxation, finds himself putting on his thinking cap and picking up his magnifying glass when he is plunged into a murder investigation after a passenger is discovered viciously slain in bed.
Evening performances that start at 8 p.m. are lined up for Nov. 17-18 as well as Nov. 24-25, while a lone matinée is scheduled for Nov. 19 with the show starting at 2 p.m.
