Police are looking for suspects following the recent theft of a tracked off-highway vehicle.

At approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, a red Arctic Cat Prowler 1000 side by side on tracks, with an attached snow blade on a black single-axle trailer that has removable plywood sides was stolen from in front of a residence on 4th Street and 3rd Avenue SW.

The unit and trailer were attached to the victim's truck, but the thieves detached and pushed the trailer and unit on its trailer leg until they had enough clearance to hook it up to their own truck. CCTV footage from a nearby hotel showed that the thieves were using a white crew cab pickup truck when they departed the area.

A neighbour had also witnessed the thieves stop a short distance down the street from where it was stolen to strap down the off-highway vehicle. The Alberta licence plate on the side by side is EUA53 and the trailer's licence plate is 4SE001.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Sundre RCMP detachment at 403-638-3675. Members of the public can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). All information will be kept confidential. Crime Stoppers may pay a reward for information that leads to an arrest, recovery of stolen property, seizure of drugs, and the location of wanted persons.
