SUNDRE – The format for the fifth annual West Country Cruisers’ Sundre Car Show has been changed up a bit this year.

Previously held at the Sundre & District Museum’s historic village grounds and nearby streets in conjunction with the community’s Canada Day activities, the car show will this time around be held on June 30 at the Sundre Rodeo Grounds in the lead-up to July 1 celebrations.

“It is the first year at the rodeo grounds as we were limited on space at the museum,” said Erin Erickson, one of the group’s founders.

This year’s event will also feature an outdoor market as well as food trucks, live singing courtesy of Linda Jean and Gloria Kae, awards and door prizes with two children’s entertainers on site.

Sundre Fountain Tire will also be presenting a family-friendly drive-in movie at dusk, while The Den – Sundre Youth Centre has plans to set up a putting green to collect donations.

Registered car show participants will also automatically be entered into a draw for door prizes, and there will be raffles as well as a 50-50.

Vehicle registration is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. at a cost of $20, with the awards ceremony set to start at about 2:30 p.m.
