A teen has died after being struck in the head by a cement beam while standing out of a car’s sunroof while driving West Edmonton Mall parking lot.
According to an Edmonton Police Service (EPS) press release, an 18-year-old man was driving in a Toyota Camry in mall’s the parking lot and stood up through the sunroof and was struck. A 17-year-old male was driving the car and a 15-year-old female was a passenger in the car. Neither speed or impairment are thought to have been a factor in the collision.
Mall security first responded to the scene and EMS were called. The injured teen was taken to hospital but did not survive.
