BOWDEN – Highway 2 fully reopened to traffic Wednesday afternoon following a morning crash near Bowden that killed one head of cattle and injured four motorists and passengers.

At 4 p.m, RCMP announced police remained on scene for many hours investigating and Highway 2 was now clear and normal traffic had resumed.

Southbound lanes near Bowden were closed shortly after 7:30 a.m. Nov. 27 after a semi-truck lost control and flipped in its side blocking lanes.

The province's travel advisory service, 511 Alberta, noted at 2:35 p.m. that some traffic was being allowed through the area but cautioned motorists to "stay to the left and expect major delays while traffic volume clears."
