CARSTAIRS - The 2022-2023 Carstairs Junior Curing Bonspiel attracted 16 teams from across the region, with Carstairs teams doing very well in the one-day tourney on Saturday.

The U16 A event winners were from Carstairs. The Carter Jochems team, with Quinton Richardson, Kierra Postma and Norah Vatcher, defeated the Alex Gruber team of Airdrie in the final.

The U12 A event winners were the Ben Meyers team of Carstairs, with Jace Hurum, Ryan Hall and Kaiden Beausoleil. 

The U12 A event runner-ups were the Austin Richardson team of Carstairs, with Micah Ewert, Kai Sitter and Kayden Postma, in the final.

The U12 B event winners were the Lachlan Holloway team of Carstairs, with Callum Cameron, Coleman Geortzen and Noah Beausoleil. 

The U16  C event winners the Parker Holloway team of Carstairs, with Mya Nolan Vatcher, Jack Gelleny, and Liam Roblee. 

The U16 D event winners were the Nikolas Roy team of Carstairs, with Mya Daniels, Zander Ewert and Mykaela Hall.

Teams came from Strathmore, Irricana, Airdrie and Indus.

The Carstairs Curling Club’s mixed year-end wind-up bonspiel took place this week, starting Thursday and wrapping up Sunday.
