CARSTAIRS - The Town of Carstairs has officially recognized some of the community’s top student athletes and their coaches in the 2021-2022 school year.
During June 27 council meeting, athletes and coaches who made it to provincial level competitions in various sports were presented with plaques recognizing their achievements.
The recipients were as follows:
Figure skating-skating-solstice adult-mountain region bronze medalists: coaches Andrea St. Cyr and Monique Wasmann, and athletes Cassandra Kellsey, Jocelyn Campbell, Melissa Hill and Stefanie Jessen.
Figure skating-skating-solstice beginner-mountain regional bronze medalists: coaches St. Cyr and Whittmore, and athlete Isolde St. Cyr.
Figure skating-solstice elementary-mountain regional silver medalists: coachers Callie Manko and Whittmore, and athletes Anna Melnik, Avarie Rosteski, Emersyn Faloon, Holly Rosteski, Honour Terpstra, Kaitlyn Lupas, Kaylee Schwartz, Mackenna Fuhriam, Maddison Turnbull, Naomi Killam, Noella Chan, Paige Bilou, Payton O’Donaghue and Hanna Glass.
