DIDSBURY - The municipality's various departments recently brought council up to speed on file and call volumes over the past few months
There were 15 action requests for public works, 24 for municipal enforcement, two for waste management, seven for parks and recreation, two for finance and one for administration, for a total of 51 in June, council heard.
According to the second quarter municipal enforcement report, 181 files were processed, including 63 action requests, 94 warnings, three municipal tickets and 19 provincial tickets.
“Along with Didsbury and surrounding RCMP members, various members of council, our community peace officers participated in 22 birthday drive-bys, Nurses Week appreciation, and extended care staff and seniors appreciation,” the municipal enforcement report states.
Community peace officers issued 28 positive tickets to both youth and adults for positive behaviours such as wearing bike helmets, children dismounting bicycles and crossing streets at crosswalks, and parents acting as positive role models and leading by example when riding bikes.
Between Jan. 1 and May 31, the Didsbury Fire Department responded to 98 calls, including 14 EMS calls, 20 outside fires, 12 motor vehicle collisions, 19 structure fires and 24 alarms.
Forty-five of the calls were in town and 38 were in rural areas, along with 15 mutual aid calls.
Council accepted all reports as information.
