DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts dropped two close games over the weekend, pushing the team back into second place in the north division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League.
The Colts hosted the Sylvan Lake Wranglers on Friday and the Medicine Hat Cubs on Saturday at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.
On Friday, the Colts fell 5-3, getting goals from Haiden Parks (assist Jordan Saunders), Steven Bell (assists Corson Waiting and Trey Stovin) and a second by Parks.
Colts netminder Chance Griffith stopped 36 of 40 shots.
On Saturday, the Colts fell 7-6, getting goals from Carter Layden (Nate McNeely and Logan Richards), Jay Heistad (assists Layden and Waiting), Corbin Rae, Heistad (assist Richards), Bell (assists Harley Smith and Waiting) and Layden (assist Richards).
Colts goalie Griffith stopped 54 of 61 shots.
The Colts are home at the Memorial Complex on Friday against the Three Hills Thrashers, and in Red Deer on Saturday for a game against the Vipers.
Forward Steven Bell leads the Colts with 19 points, with captain Paton Rothenbusch in second with 15 points.
As a team, the Colts currently have a 10-6 record, good for 20 points, two points behind division leader Sylvan Lake.
