Shawn Burke is ready for CFL free agency to begin with much of the heavy lifting having already been done. The free-agent period officially begins Tuesday at 12:01 p.m.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed quarterback Chris Streveler to a one-year contract, the CFL club announced Saturday. Streveler appeared in 13 games last season before sustaining a knee injury in a 26-21 win over Saskatchewan on Sept.

TORONTO — The CFL has slapped American defensive lineman Shawn Lemon with an additional two-game suspension for violating its drug policy. Lemon is currently serving an indefinite suspension for betting on CFL games, including one in which he played.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American receiver/returner Mario Alford to a contract extension, the CFL team announced Wednesday. Alford was fourth in the league with 2,071 all-purpose yards in 2004, his third season with the Roughriders.

Adarius Pickett has started taking significant steps forward in his preparation for the 2025 CFL season. The veteran linebacker started sprinting this week as part of his off-season workouts.

TORONTO — CFL teams will have more money to spend on bolstering their rosters in 2025. The league announced Wednesday that its salary cap this season has been set at just over $6.06 million. That's up significantly from last year's limit of $5.

TORONTO — Nick Arbuckle is remaining with the Toronto Argonauts. The '24 Grey Cup MVP re-signed with the CFL club Tuesday. He was slated to become a free agent next week.

VANCOUVER — American Keon Hatcher Sr. is on the receiving end of a restructured contract with the B.C. Lions and will return for a fifth season with the CFL club.

REGINA — Canadian Tevaughn Campbell is back with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The six-foot, 200-pound defensive back re-signed with the CFL club Monday following six seasons in the NFL. Campbell, a Toronto native, played with the Riders in 2016-17.

TORONTO — Wynton McManis will help the Toronto Argonauts defend their Grey Cup title. The veteran linebacker re-signed with the CFL club Sunday, less than an hour after the league's free-agent window opened.
