The Boob Tour is an ongoing fundraising effort for cancer research that hosts shows throughout Canada. Past shows have included performances in Olds, Camrose, Rimbey, Sylvan Lake, Red Deer, Stettler and Medicine Hat with future ones scheduled for Kelowna, Kamloops, Edson, Hinton and Grande Cache.

Innisfail hosted the third annual Boob Tour show on April 15 at the Royal Canadian Legion.

“This year, the Boob Tour raised close to $5,000 including our online fundraising efforts, but we don't have all the final bills and performer costs yet,” said Trish King, show organizer. “My friends and I usually participate in Relay for Life which runs on June 20 this year and all funds from the Boob Tour will be donated through the relay. We are taking a year off from the Relay for Life.”

The Boob Tour's mission is to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. The organization works with more than 40 different organizations across North America to direct funding to where it is most needed.

Last year the show raised almost $4,000, compared to the $2,200 collected in the tour's first Innisfail stop in 2012. King said the goal for this year was to at least equal the total raised in 2013.

“We didn't really have a firm dollar goal set,” said King. “But close to 200 people attended and the comedians were outstanding as they usually are. The three entertainers were phenomenal.”

King, who no longer works with the Canadian Cancer Society, is already in the planning stages for the fourth annual Boob Tour Show.
